Bathroom Linen Cabinets

by HDME Staff

Just because it is only a place to hold your towels when they’re not being used, it doesn’t mean that bathroom linen cabinets shouldn’t be stylish and beautiful parts of your bathroom decor. If you have an empty space in your bathroom, you can put it to practical and attractive use by selecting the perfect bathroom linen cabinet to complement the style you have established within the space. These pieces come in all shapes and sizes, so it’s up to you how many shelves and drawers you’d like, and how you want them to look.

Start your decision for bathroom linen cabinets by establishing your budget. Once you know how much you want to spend, then you’ll be able to begin narrowing down your choices based on materials, hardware, finishes, sizes, and other elements. It will also help you to decide where you can make your purchase, as some stores will have more expensive pieces than others.

Bathroom linen cabinets are also very pleasant features for guest bathrooms. It helps to keep their towels, cloths, extra soaps, and even toilet paper within easy reach and in a place where they are easy to locate so that they don’t struggle to find what they need. This single piece can add sophistication to a well decorated bathroom so that you’ll be proud to have overnight visitors who will be able to comfortably stay in your home and enjoy the care you have taken to decorate it.

Both style and practicality are extremely important in bathroom linen cabinets. Without one, the other simply doesn’t go very far. Though you will want the piece to be a very attractive contribution to the decoration of the room, if it is awkward to use, doesn’t hold enough, or is not designed to allow you to store the necessary items in a realistic way, then its appearance won’t make it worth the while.

Similarly, if you have a piece that will contain everything in an organized way that is easy to access, but is hideous to see, then it is equally lacking in its performance.

Therefore, after you know how much you want to spend on a cabinet, and have found the likely places to make your purchase, you will also need to have a look at the style of your bathroom, the size of the space where you would like to put the cabinet, and what the piece will need to hold.

That way, you’ll be able to decide whether or not a particular cabinet is able to accomplish what you need it to do, even while you’re still in the store. You’ll have an idea of the right colors, the style, the size, and the type of storage you need.

Need wall space
by: Syd62

I'd absolutely love a nice big stylish linen cabinet on my bathroom wall but one wall is almost entirely window, one is bath, one is a huge medicine cabinet and the other holds the towels on hooks, so no room I'm afraid!

Wall mounted bathroom linen cabinets are my preference

I have a small bathroom so every inch counts! I have some beautiful wall mounted cabinets that match the cabinetry under the sink. It looks beautiful and stores towels, washcloths and various odds and ends. The best part is that no precious floor space is lost.

Airtight bathroom linen cabinets

Great article. I splashed out on a new linen cabinet for my bathroom last year. I was tired of the old one having such a bad design that everything inside got damp and attracted mildew. I agree it is very important to choose something big enough for whatever you want to store there.

Can't live without them
by: Sandy

I have linen closets in both of my bathrooms and I couldn't imagine living without them. I don't know where I would put anything if I didn't have that space.

Antique bathroom linen cabinets

We antiqued our cabinets in the bathroom. I was sick of the same old thing and I didn't want to spend a lot of money. I sanded them down and then stained the heck out of them. Now they are stylish and it was cheap!

Bathroom Linen Cabinets - Function and Beauty
by: Kayla

I have a very small bathroom with no linen space and I made the mistake of purchasing a low quality shelving unit that was ugly and had no durability. I've since purchased a wall mounted unit that looks great and is very efficient. It is worth it to spend a little extra on functionality and form.

This is a good article but I have had so much trouble trying to get a bathroom linen cabinet in my home. The bathroom was small so we had to modify the room a bit. We were able to extend the bathroom so it continued under the steps where there was a closet with a lot of wasted space. We were able to build a linen cabinet that way. Our front entry coat closet is smaller but still holds all of our coats. I don't know why they didn't build this house with bigger bathrooms.

Bathroom Linen Cabinets Help Organize
by: Evelyn

We have recently moved to a house that doesn't have any bathroom linen cabinets. I hadn't realized how much I relied on them to help me keep my bathroom nice and orderly. They are simply the best way possible to keep your bathroom looking great.
