For the first line of defense to keep your tiles clean is with a broom and dustpan for tile. This can keep the debris off of the floor before you clean with anything else. This way you can remove anything so it wont get pushed or moved around and get tracked around by your feet.

Getting your tiled floors sanitized has never been so easy with all of the accessories such as sprays and disinfectants to get your home clean in half the time. Simply using a bucket of water with a small amount of bleach will kill those germs that get on your floor from day to day use. Other floor cleaning tools and methods include using a flat floor mop with disposable sanitizing pad to pick up the filth while killing germs and leaving a pleasant clean smell in minutes.

Cleaning grout is no longer such a challenge with handy little floor cleaning tools called grout cleaning brushes, which are specifically designed for getting in between the floor tiles. Using grout spray to effectively get everything clean with many that are fume free reducing that strong cleaning smell. Once you have cleaned the grout you can use either a mop or your flat floor mop to finish the job.

When it comes to getting your carpet clean and pick up all the loose dirt that gets left behind from regular use. A good vacuum equipped with some of the effective air filters can make sure your carpet stays clean. The air filter plays an important part for overall health and cleanliness since whatever small particles the vacuum sucks up can just go back on the floor. So when keeping your floor clean its always a good idea to ensure you have a clean filter for your vacuum in addition to all your other floor cleaning tools.

Finding a kitchen with no carpet was important to me as I find it hard to cook without splashing everywhere. I do have a good vacuum around before I slosh my old fashioned mop over my tiles. I love the feeling of satisfaction I get when they are gleaming and clean.

I use my steam mop for every floor I have except for my carpeting. I love it. It cleans and I can use it daily without worrying about leaving residue for my kids to get into. My husband bought it for my birthday and it has saved me a lot of hard work.

My wife has been bugging for a Dyson vacuum too and I say it's just too expensive. We are having a heck of a time keeping our tiles clean. I was told to never use bleach on them, it ruins them (color and grout). We were told to just use warm water and vinegar?

Some good tips here but I wouldn't use bleach on my floor. Apart from fading the colour of the tiles, it smells awful and is just too toxic a substance to put on the floor where little ones may crawl.

One of the simplest mops is to use an old t-shirt, cut a small hole in the center and slide it over your broom. It takes a little bit to get the hang of it, but it works great. The nice thing about it is that you can wash the t-shirt and keep it clean, too. Thanks for the advice about floor cleaning tools.

I have to agree that the first line of defense is the good old fashioned broom and dustpan. My tile floors are so small I just do them by hand with vinegar and water.

I always run my Dyson over my vinyl floor first then to use my mop with its disposable head. You can buy all sorts of floor cleaning tools and cleaners nowadays to use with a mop but you can't beat old fashioned soap and water!

I have a floor steamer on my Christmas list this year and I really hope I get it. I am so sick of mopping! Those steamers look awesome because they dry at the same time so there's no waiting to walk on the floor. And it looks a lot easier than ringing out a mop and dealing with dirty water.
